Shield Engineering acquired the Bridge Aluminium Gravity foundry in 2019, this 5000m Square meter site has 130 employees . Specialized producer of castings for the automotive and off highway sectors including Power Train Components and automotive body in white component. Bridge Aluminium can offer Magmasoft developed casting in house x-ray and crack detection facilities.

Major New Exciting Development

Bridge Aluminium Limited (“Bridge”) is pleased to announce the purchase of the business and assets of Worcester based Grainger and Worrall Engineering Limited from its administrators, Paul Meadows and Dan Smith, both of Teneo Financial Advisory, in a pre-pack transaction on 7 March 2023.

Lead Administrator, Paul Meadows, said “I’m very pleased that following an accelerated sale process we have been able to secure a future for the business that safeguards the jobs of all 36 employees at Grainger and Worrall Engineering Limited.”

Chris Shield, director of Bridge Aluminium, said “we have significant growth plans for the business and look forward to creating a successful business at the site. Its skilled workforce and processes will allow us to expand our capability in complex castings for both production and pre-production volumes, continuing our development in non-ferrous casting by adding the sandcasting process to our existing portfolio of gravity, low pressure and high pressure capabilities.”
